8 Classroom Rules Introduce at Home This Year

Teachers rely on a clearly defined set of classroom rules to keep their students in line and engaged. It may be time to bring some of those rules home.

Seasoned teachers are masters at keeping kids in line. Why? Because they establish classroom rules and stick to them.

Do your kids have behavioral problems? If so, you might consider adopting some of these classroom rules for your home.

Wondering which ones will serve you the best? You’re reading the right article. Here are eight to try.

1. Keep Your Hands To Yourself

Society has long been lacking a focus on consent. For years, unwanted touching has been seen as a sort of norm. This is a habit that starts in childhood and, when not deterred by parents, creeps into older age.

Want your children to understand and practice consent? If so, you should institute the “keep your hands to yourself” rule in your home. It’s a simple concept that kids will understand: don’t lay a finger on another person unless that person is alright with you doing so.

Not only can this rule assist in combatting general discomfort but violence as well. Plus, it will help your children develop a respect for their fellow humans.

Need help establishing it? If so, you might consider utilizing social narratives

2. Follow Directions

There aren’t many shortcuts in life. You can’t become a doctor by routinely skipping class, after all. You have to follow the established guideline that’s been predetermined by others; in other words, you have to follow directions.

Unfortunately, this is one of those school rules that often gets overlooked at home. A child might handle his or her responsibilities in the classroom but shirk them while under the guidance of his or her parents.

This can’t be allowed. You must instill in your child the importance of following directions. Following directions puts you in a position to succeed in society, giving you the chance to lead the happiest and most fulfilling life possible.

Note, your kids will likely push back against this rule. It’s your job, as the parent, to be firm in your assertions. It may be frustrating now, but it will pay dividends over time.

3. Always Give Your All

Another rule you should consider implementing in your home is the rule of always giving you all. When used in school, this rule promotes the idea of working to achieve good grades. When used in the home, it promotes the ideas of work ethic, kindness, and perseverance.

Of course, you shouldn’t punish your children for coming up short sometimes. It’s going to happen and you should take it in stride. But you should always be encouraging, trying to inspire max effort in your kids.

4. Be Prepared

When it comes to leading a successful life, few things are as important as preparation. Proper preparation sets us on the path that we need to succeed. It opens us up to possibility and inspires us to act.

As such, “be prepared” is one of the rules that should be instituted in your home. Not only should your kids be prepared for small endeavors like welcoming company, but they should be prepared for large endeavors like sporting events as well.

If they approach life with a prepared mindset, they’ll be able to give 100% to everything they do. Not to mention, they’ll be better at adapting to change.

5. Show Up On Time

Perhaps the most important rule to teach your kids is to show up on time. You can avoid a number of pitfalls in life simply by showing up when you agreed to show up. This is true in business just as much as it is in your personal life.

After all, there are plenty of people who simply come to work on time, slack off at their desk, get paid, and lead happy, healthy lives. It’s not encouraged but it’s much preferred to being unemployed.

6. Clean Up After Yourself

Could you imagine an entire school’s worth of kids who were completely unable to clean up after themselves? It would be chaos and would add a substantial amount of work to teachers’ dockets.

Why doesn’t this occur at school? Because it’s not allowed to occur at school. Kids are expected to clean up after themselves and if they don’t, they’re punished.

The same should go for your home. You need to let your child know your expectations of cleanliness. If he or she doesn’t meet these expectations (within reason), punishment needs to be levied.

7. Be Honest

You know what they say: honesty is the best policy. And as of right now, we’ve seen nothing that would make that statement any less true. Being honest not only strengthens your bonds with others, but it also makes you more comfortable with yourself.

Conversely, lying and omitting information puts you in a state of limbo where you’re always looking for the other shoe to drop. This creates feelings of anxiety that adversely affect one’s quality of life.

To promote honesty in your children, try not to get angry with them when they make mistakes. If their mistakes are met with anger, they will start lying just to avoid such anger.

8. Ask Questions

The last rule you should establish is to ask questions. After all, how can one learn without asking questions?

Of course, if you’re going to implement this rule, you need to do your part as well; you need to answer those questions. And if you can’t answer those questions, you need to find someone who can.

Don’t ever shame your children for having inquiring minds. They’re humans just like you and they’re constantly trying to figure out the world that surrounds them.

These Classroom Rules Can Make All The Difference

Kids can be boisterous. They can push your buttons until you’re ready to snap. But there’s no need to snap. Instead, you can establish order by implementing some of these classroom rules in your home.

How to Apply Makeup Like A Pro- Every Step Explained

While you must be aware of every step involved in doing makeup, but do you know the right method of applying it? We have explained here the makeup application methods step by step so that you learn to do makeup like a pro;

Foundation

As your overall finished look highly depends on the foundation application hence you need to take extra time to apply it and check it under different lights to make sure you have missed no spot. If you are going for a light makeup look, then just use your fingers to apply the foundation as it will give you sheer coverage and if you need a heavy look, then use a brush as it will give you a medium to full coverage.

Many people make the mistake of applying foundation or concealer on the eyelid which should be avoided or else your eye makeup will crease.

Powder

Application of powder should not be even on your face as if you do so, the shine on your face will look uneven. Remember that your face is more oily in certain areas than others hence first apply more powder where you are the shiniest such as the T-zone and then you can lightly dust powder on the rest of the areas of your face to get an even look.

Bronzer

Bronzer should be used to even out your skin tone wherever needed hence apply it on your face, neck, and chest to achieve that even skin tone and inspect under light to make sure that the skin color is even everywhere.

Blush

While applying blush, you should always smile so that you can dust the apples of your cheeks and use a brush to sweep it towards the top of your ears.

Brow Pencil

Use the brow pencil to highlight the top of the brows more than the bottom, it will give you a facelift and make you look younger.

Eye Shadow

As we have already mentioned above that you should not apply foundation on your eyelid, instead, use a matte based eye shadow that matches your face color and then apply the eyeshadow on top of the base.

Eyeliner

While applying eyeliner, tilt your head upwards and look down so that you can neatly apply the eyeliner. Start from the inner corner till you reach the middle of eyelid then refill the liner brush and start again from the middle till the outer corner of the eyelid. This technique requires precision and a good quality eyeliner that will make your job easier. Jonteblu Cosmetics, for example, offers felt tip eyeliners that are silky and make sure color goes on nice and smooth

Mascara

To get fuller eyelashes and make your eyes look bigger, apply the mascara by starting from the root and going zigzag as you move towards the outside of the eyelash. This will give volume to the eyelash and enhance your eye makeup. You can also try a few different types of mascara to see which style you like the best. Some mascaras will make your lashes look long and thick, while others will give you a more natural look for that simple, everyday vibe. There are a few terrific brands, like Vivienne Sabó Paris, that have a wide variety of mascaras you can try out to find the right one for you.

Lipstick

While applying lipstick, draw a cross on top of your lips across the bow and then extend to the corners using a lip liner. The next step would be to fill color inside the lined lips.

The Bottom Line

While you can get tips from above to do makeup like a pro but you will actually become a real makeup pro when you get formal makeup uddannelse (education) from a reputed institute and you can also pursue this as a full-time profession.

Hair dyeing

Many women struggle with their hair during pregnancy. Hair is known to lose its shine and volume when attacked by all these pregnancy hormones, it’s natural that you want to do something about your locks. Luckily, you can still dye your hair. Even though some chemicals might get absorbed through the skin, the amount is so small, it can be neglected. Some experts recommend avoiding bleach, but as long as you stay away from this chemical, you can dye your hair without fear.

Facials

Besides freshening up your look, a good facial is one of the best ways to relax, unwind and relieve some of that pregnancy stress. But keep in mind that some facials contain harsh chemicals that can penetrate your skin, get absorbed in your bloodstream and reach your fetus in the uterus. Smooth Move: Easy Tricks to Survive Moving to a New Home (with Kids!)

Preparing for a move is stressful enough as it is, but with kids, things get twice as hectic. All the packing, planning, and organizing require you to remain calm and collected, but with kids running around, that can be quite challenging. What’s more, your whole family is probably feeling anxious about the move, which is understandable.

As difficult as relocating may be, moving to a new home can be quite an exciting experience, and with thorough planning and getting your kids to help instead of hindering the moving process, relocation can be less of a nuisance and more of an enjoyable event. Whether you’re moving locally or heading for a long-distance move, there are NYC moving companies to help you out. Read on for five easy tricks that will help your family survive the upcoming relocation and make the transition go smoothly.

Find a calm way to break the news to kids

The upcoming changes that come with relocating can be tough on everybody, but they can be especially hard on kids. Depending on their age, they may have to leave their friends or change schools, and this type of change can be quite difficult to cope with.

This is why parents need to find a calm way to break the news about the move to their kids and do so in a timely manner so the children have enough time to adapt to the idea of moving across town or to an entirely different country. Discussing the move repeatedly and highlighting the benefits of moving to a new place will help dial down the tension and drama that usually surround a relocating process.

Start packing early on

To avoid all the stress that comes with last-minute packing, you want to make sure you start as soon as possible. Begin by purging and decluttering your home from items you don’t use or need, either by donating them or selling them so you don’t pay extra for moving unnecessary items. Labeling the boxes by contents and not by rooms will save you time, and so will sorting your clothes in boxes while they’re on hangers and keeping all your important documents in one box.

Depending on their age, you can get your kids to help out as well. Have them label their boxes and pack the items from their room. Keeping your children busy and delegating the tasks will save you so much time and effort, and it’ll also make your kids feel like they’re contributing, which is a big plus.

Move some things on your own

Regardless of whether you’re planning to purchase new furnishings for your new home, you’ll still need to move some of your old belongings between locations. For those looking to move a few pieces of furniture, ute hire services are one of the most convenient options as they enable you to rent a vehicle that is in line with your needs so you can easily and safely transport your belongings to your new dwelling.

Involve your kids in the moving process by having them carry and load lighter boxes in the cargo area. Sorting boxes and driving around in a new vehicle can even be interesting for your little ones, and they’ll likely see the whole process as an adventure rather than as a tedious task, which is a big relief for parents.

Maintain a dose of familiarity

Moving to a new place is a big life transition, even more so for the little ones in the family. To minimize the change and help your kids cope better with the transition, try setting a familiar space as soon as you move into your new home.

Keep their room looking the same – paint the walls in a similar color as their old room, arrange the furniture in an identical manner, and keep the decorations and toys they used to play with at their old home. If they have a favorite toy, make sure you bring it so they can have it by their side at all times. Doing all this will help maintain a dose of familiarity in an unknown environment and ease the transition for the little ones.

Pack an ‘open first’ box

Once you relocate, chances are your first night at a new home is going to be hectic because you won’t know where everything is and which boxes to unload first. When moving, it always helps to bring an essentials box that you’ll unpack as soon as you get to your new house. From toiletries and dishes to pet food and emergency kits, his ‘open first’ box should contain all the different items you’d usually use on a daily basis. By packing all the important items in a couple of boxes, you’ll spare yourself the hassle of looking for a coffee maker and a toaster first thing in the morning in your new home.

Relocating can be quite nerve-racking, but there are ways to ease the transition and help your family go through the process stress-free. With these tricks up your sleeve, moving houses should go easier, faster, and much smoother.

7 Tips to Prepare Your Teen for Their First Solo Travel

Traveling as a family is truly amazing, but it’s inevitable that your teen will want to travel alone sooner or later. When this opportunity comes, make sure to rejoice—it’s a first step towards becoming an adult. However, just for your peace of mind, make sure your teen is prepared for their solo adventure to the fullest. Here’s what to pay attention to.

Start with smart packing

Traveling light is the key to comfort and practicality, but having a few extra comforts will make any trip more pleasurable. Ensure you pack their bags according to the local climate and culture. Always pack an extra shirt, an extra pair of socks and underwear, and the second pair of shoes. A headscarf and a long skirt for girls might be required for some worship sites. When traveling to tropical destinations, packing a flashlight, wet wipes and some insect repellent is also a great idea.

Talk about safety

The more your child travels, the more mature and responsible they will become, but for their first solo trip, you definitely need to have a talk about personal safety. Show them what to do if they get lost, how to use ATMs discreetly, how to keep money and documents safe and how to spot dangerous situations. You can come up with a few scenarios and quiz them by asking ‘what if’ questions.

Ensure they have safe and comfy accommodation

No matter how grownup your kids think they are, they will probably miss home, especially the comfort it provides. So, make sure your teen has comfortable and safe accommodation. This is especially crucial in far-away destinations, such as China, and longer stays. Luckily, if you do some research, you can always find accommodation that provides all the comforts of their home. You can book a comfortable service apartment in Hong Kong and your kid can expect accommodation with a long list of added benefits, even housekeeping and linen change. This is perfect for teens that are just getting used to doing things alone, so they won’t have any safety and cleanliness issues.

Pack some spending money

Your kid will definitely need some money, but ensure they are not taking too much. It’s always smart to give them a debit card or a pre-paid credit card since these are the easiest to handle and most places in the world take plastics today. However, even if your kid is having a short vacation in a developed destination, some cash will still be necessary. It’s best to exchange a small amount of cash into local currency for laundromats, coffee shops, street food and similar spots.

Think about health

Oftentimes, you don’t even want to think about all the medical emergencies that might happen during your kid’s trip, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Make sure they have good access to a doctor and type out their health history (chronic conditions, past surgeries, medication they take, allergies as well as emergency contacts and health insurance account numbers).

Also, every single human can benefit from some basic first aid training, especially teens traveling abroad. Hopefully, they won’t need any info they learn about CPR, but knowing some basic wound care might come in handy, unfortunately. Also, traveling to certain countries requires vaccination, many of which need a few weeks to start working their magic. Getting a tetanus booster is also a good idea. Preparing for gastrointestinal issues by packing antibiotics and probiotics might also be smart.

Follow them on social media

It’s easier to stay in touch with your kid today than ever before, but make sure to establish a rule on how and how often you’ll be communicating. If they don’t have internet access, one short call or massage a day is more than enough. If your kid has a habit of posting stuff online, make sure to follow them on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat). These will not only show you that your kid is safe but also offer insight into their activities and whereabouts. Knowing that they are having fun will also make you feel a lot better about your decision to let them go.

Get them a power bank

If you expect your kid to touch base at least once a day or post on social media, make sure to remind them to charge their phones regularly. You don’t want them to be without their phone in case of an emergency. While most places have an outlet for them to use, it might be a smart idea to invest in a power bank that will come in handy during excursions or longer flights and bus rides.

If you arm your teen with well-packed luggage and plenty of safety tips, you can be sure they will have a fun, comfortable and safe first solo trip. Just expect them to start planning their next adventure as soon as they come home!

Now, we will have a quick look at the settings.

The prong setting

The prong setting is a very trendy choice where small claw-like features or prongs hold the stone in place. You can have four or six-pronged designs depending on your preference. However, keep in mind that with time, the stone might come loose from the prong.

The bezel setting

The bezel is another popular setting where a metal rim goes around the stone. There are full bezel and partial bezel options to go for depending on how secure you want the diamond centerpiece to be.

Tension setting

Here a band holds the ring in place, and it creates the suspended effect. The two ends create a tension setting. It is a very modern design that shows a very significant portion of the stone.

The channel

If you are looking to accent the centerpiece with additional stones, then the channel setting is the way forward. This setting is very secure since a channel or a groove holds the stone in place.

Pave setting

If your ring has several small diamonds, then a pave setting is a great idea. Here holes are drilled into the setting, and the diamond is held into place with tiny metal beads. Use it for the side stones for the best effect.

Design Parameters to Help You Build a Great Kitchen

The kitchen is that piece of each house that is loved by everyone. This is the reason why you need to keep it tasteful, up-to-date, and contemporary. There are many factors of consideration that will help you build a fantastic kitchen. We have listed some of these characteristics to help you design your dream kitchen.

PHYSICAL SPACE

For a practical kitchen, you need to keep this space bright. Divert traffic outside of this zone if conceivable. In case your kitchen design has an island, and you need to have seating at the island, ensure there’s at any rate 5 feet clearance. For a cutting edge look, make your apparatuses look worked in, particularly your cooler and oven. You can make keen spaces by introducing particular frills like wire drawers, movable racks, pullout cupboards, and holders. Having the right provision for all elements will help you move around with ease and make your work a lot easier. Cautious plan choices will make cleaning simpler. So think about how you are going to move about and work in the kitchen to design it correctly.

FUNCTIONALITY

We all know that refrigerators need landing space. It’s essential to have a space to put things down when you have to grab something from the fridge. Consider the functionality of each element to make the workflow easier. Having an island is an incredible alternative for landing space in the kitchen. You would prefer not to place a stove in a corner since you won’t have the option to handle hot utensils because of the absence of working space around it. Besides, this could be a fire risk too. It’s simpler to structure a kitchen around the appliances and functionality. Hold off on purchasing these apparatuses as you may need to change things during the plan. It’s incredible to have types of equipment as the main priority when building cupboards. It’s challenging to store large appliances in a little kitchen. Make a point to know your needs so that you can make the correct trade-offs to meet your requirements best.

THEME AND COLOUR

Colors and tones are vital in defining the look of any place. The shades that you use for different components must be coherent and must give out an energizing vibe. You can create the kitchen cabinet doors with monochrome or diverse covers to include dynamic quality inside the kitchen space. You can even go for adorning your kitchen walls with tiles of your choice. The stylistic layout depends on the colors you choose as much it does on the design. Try to use matte completions if you do not want to keep wiping the surfaces all the time.

PLACEMENT

The way you place different components of your kitchen is significant. For instance, the height at which you place the microwave may change contingent upon the character of the kitchen and how accessible you want it to be. With regards to kitchen islands, structure plays a vital part. In case you need to cook and eat on kitchen islands, plan enough space so that the cook-top is securely isolated from the other parts. Include particular retires and divider setups that can give you quick access to the kitchen basics. Besides, try to fix little retires for storing things that are utilized frequently while cooking. One can adequately use the space between the counter and overhead cupboards by attaching divider frill for hanging spoons, spatulas, tongs, and other utility things. It would help if you also considered the placement of your fridge. Make sure there is space beside the refrigerator to place the items you took out from the cooler.

Important Things To Consider Before Finally Deciding On Your Embroidery Design And Pattern

Not all types of embroidery will be made in the same manner – there will be good ones and there will be bad ones as well. You may not be able to recognize a poorly made embroidery all by itself but if the same thing is kept beside a good quality one – that has been made and designed by Brisbane embroidery services, then only you’ll be to know the differences.

It’s always the small and little things that matter when planning to opt for your embroidery design which is why you need to find the aptest embroidery services to perform your work. The following are some of the most crucial factors that you need to consider before choosing your embroidery pattern or even machine embroidery designs.

The Factors To Learn Before Finally Deciding Upon Your Embroidery Style

1. The Overall Pricing

It should be remembered that the pricing of your embroidery design will depend upon the overall stitch count, the kind of colours you’ve chosen, the overall size of the design, whether the design is complex or not and so on.

If you plan to minimize the overall price that is being charged for your embroidery design, then the best option for you would be to reduce the number of colours that are associated with the design and also lowering the overall size of the design too. These are some of the factors on which the price varies greatly.

2. The Colour That You’re Choosing

Before you plan on going out for your first embroidery design, it should be noted that embroidery is more suitable for designs that have a separation between its colours clearly and there is the presence of solid colours (and not different colour variations). If the design has various colour shading and gradients, then it can be hard to reproduce that type of embroidery or embroidery patches – in its entirety.

You should also keep in mind the colour of the apparel on which you’re planning to get the embroidery as well. For instance, if the embroidery design colours are dark, then it will not look good on apparel whose colour is also dark as well. You need to choose contrasting colours if you want your design to be visible and look good as well.

3. The Size Of The Embroidery Design

Different sizes of the embroidery design will provide separate results in the end. For example, if your embroidery design is around four inches or even less, then such design size will not be able to integrate any sort of complex designs in it.

If you want your designs to have complex patterns, then your embroidery design size should be more than eight inches in overall size.

4. Using Of The Main Photograph As A Base Model For The Embroidery Design

Before you plan to provide your copy of the photographic design that you want to consider as the base model for the embroidery design, you need to ensure that the photography is of high-quality resolution.

It’ll not be possible to work with artworks or photographs that are low in resolution and the overall quality is less. In case you have such low-resolution photographs or artwork that you want to be considered for an embroidery design, then such artwork or photo will have to re-drawn so that colours and solid lines could be easily differentiated from one another and the task of embroidering becomes a lot easier as well.

Moreover, ensure that your photograph or artwork doesn’t contain any distressed fine details or textures, as such details will get lost in the embroidery process.
