Apple Handprint Craft with Poem

Today we did one of those sentimental handprint crafts with our apple theme.  Yes, I'm an absolutely fanatic when it comes to using handprints and footprints in crafts :)

For our craft we made apples out of red construction paper and glued them to a white sheet of paper.  Then we cut out brown rectangles to use for the apple stem.  I make sure to sneak in every opportunity to review shapes and colors :)

Then, I painted the kids the kids hands green and helped them place their hand near the stem to make a handprint leaf.  (Be sure to have a wet cloth nearby to wipe their hands off with if you're doing this with multiple children.)

For the final touch, we glued this poem to our apple pictures:

This little apple that you see here
Was made just for you my preschool year.
You'll never see one like it in all this great land,
Because for a leaf I used my own little hand!

Such a simple, adorable craft!  Of course, afterwards we decided to do some fingerpainting and things quickly got messy :)

  1. Their little hands grow up so fast. My mom had each of our hand prints sewn to an apron she wore. It is a treasure!

Thanks for joining our vB Christian Mom’s Blog Hop! I look forward to reading about your experiences a Christian Mom!
