Patriotic Fun & the Weekly Kid's Co-Op

Did you know we have a BRAND NEW Facebook page?  I'd love for you to join us over there!

It's Memorial Day Weekend (almost) and we've been gearing up with some fun patriotic crafts this week. These would also work well for Flag Day next month and, of course, the 4th of July! Summertime is officially here and it's time to celebrate!

We made these easy tape-resist American Flags for Kiwi Crate.  The tape made it easy for even my 2-year-old to make perfect stripes for his flag, and all those little star stickers provided lots of fine motor skill practice.

And, we were able to make some patriotic star wands using our leftover painting plates.  I always love when we can create something out of the paper plates we use to hold paint for other crafts.  We used large star cookie-cutters to make the star shapes and attached red, white, and blue streamers to make our wands.

If you're looking for some more patriotic activities, you can try out these Salt Art fireworks.

Or add blueberries to the Strawberry Cheesecake Truffle Bowl and have a yummy patriotic dessert for your Memorial Day BBQ.

And, JDaniel's Mom shared some wonderful Patriotic Food Ideas for Kids!
