How to Throw a 4th of July Party for Kids

The Aquafresh brand has compensated me in connection with the statements made in this post.

The 4th of July happens to be my second son's birthday so we love to go all out when it comes to celebrating this holiday.  The kids are always involved with planning activities and love to make their own decorations.  We typically keep it a family event, but this year my son has requested a 4th of July party for all of his friends. As we're planning for the big celebration, I wanted to share some of our favorite decorations, activities, and party foods with you!

Decorations

Let the kids help make the decorations with some of these easy crafts. Most of them can be made with things you already have around the house!

Homemade American Flags
Cork-painted Flags for Kids
Fabric Sparklers - Make some toddler-safe sparklers for the toddlers that they'll love!
Fireworks Art for Kids
Glittery Fireworks Stamping
Toilet Roll Fireworks

Activities/Games

Keep the kids busy and entertained with these kid-friendly activities.

Lego Water Races
Fun Water Games for Kids - Try a fun game of Sponge Bulls-eye or Drip, Drip, Drench with the kids.
Relay Races for Kids - Over 20 different relay races that require very little set-up.
Homemade Carnival Game - Make some of these DIY carnival games with a red, white, and blue flair.
Ice Cube Painting - Freeze up some red and blue ice paints and let the kids create masterpieces during your party.
Patriotic Crayon Salt Dough - Set up a station for the little ones to play with this fun dough and create their own patriotic pins and ornaments.

Snacks/Desserts

No 4th of July party is complete without lots of food in red, white, and blue!

Patriotic Fruit Kabobs
Snickers Trifle
4th of July Dessert Pretzels
Cracker Jack Popcorn Balls
Jello Firecrackers
Kid-friendly Patriotic Punch

We usually let the kids splurge a little more with sugary treats for birthdays and holidays, but we still want to make sure that we're protecting their teeth from the sugary acids found in many everyday foods that can cause cavities.  Aquafresh® Multi-Action Whitening toothpaste provides Sugar Acid Protection, provided by active fluoride, to strengthen and shield teeth against sugary acids*.  So, they can enjoy their trifles, popcorn balls, candy, and punch and still have the protection that comes from twice a day brushing.  They love the great taste of Aquafresh and I love that it helps them have healthy gums and strengthens the enamel on their teeth.  Plus, it's the brand my mother trusted to protect my teeth as a child, and we all know that Mama Knows Best!
