First, let me say that we were WAY out in the country...on a farm. Any time the directions say, "turn onto the gravel road" I get a little nervous, but these views were gorgeous! During the ceremony, the guests sat on burlap-covered hay bales overlooking the river.
For the reception, we moved under the tents near the corn fields. As the sun set, the torches came out and the twinkling lights came on. I wish I had gotten more pictures but having four young boys with a river nearby is a little nerve-wracking. There were a few things that I am so excited to share with you!
The bride's bouquet: My niece scoured antique shops, flea markets, and thrift shops collecting dozens of antique broaches. She then used floral wire and floral tape to create broach flowers that she secured into silk hydrangea stems. The result was amazing!
The guest book: Apparently the traditional guest book is now obsolete (man, do I feel old!). My niece had me do this painting for her based on one she found on Etsy. During the reception, guests used their thumbprints to add leaves to the branches. I wish I had gotten a picture of the final product, but we left early to get our boys home to bed.
The favors: They put together s'more kits with little tags that read "Sending You S'more Love" with their names and the date of the wedding. Again, I'm kicking myself for not snapping a picture, but you know the kids LOVED those!
It was a beautiful day and I'm so glad I got to help celebrate this beautiful couple!
What do you remember most about your wedding day?
