My kids get so excited about this day, and I have to admit that I do, too! This Friday, July 13th is Cow Appreciation Day at your local Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A will award a FREE Meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) to any customer who comes to one of their restaurants fully dressed as a cow. If you have a partial costume, you can get a free entree! And, there's even a Best Cow Costume Contest.
Here's a picture of our herd from last year's Cow Appreciation Day:
Our costumes were really simple to put together. I started by picking out black shorts and white shirts for everyone. The baby simply got a white onesie. Then, we cut out black construction paper spots and attached them with masking tape. You could easily use black fabric paint on white t-shirts, but I didn't want to permanently have black spots on any of their clothing. To make sure they would stick long enough, we waited until we got to Chick-fil-A before attaching them in the car. For the ears, we used strips of poster board to make bands around our heads and attached construction paper ears. The whole thing took about 15 minutes to put together and the kids had a blast! I think their favorite part was having Mommy and Daddy dress up with them :)
