Today, we read The Tooth Book by Dr. Seuss and spent some time practicing brushing and flossing to take care of our teeth.
For brushing practice, we used:
Yellow construction paper teeth
The white paint acted as our toothpaste and we practiced making our teeth white and shiny. The kids had a great time practicing brushing up and down and in circles. We even set the timer a few times to see exactly how long we should be brushing (2 minutes).
For flossing practice, we used:
We used the Play-Doh to represent food and plaque ("sugar bugs") that were stuck in our teeth. Then, we used the floss to get rid of all those germs. This was great to show the kids how we have to get the floss right up against their teeth and gums to get rid of all the plaque.
