Messy Dr. Seuss ABC Fun

Today we had a blast practicing with our letters! In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, we pulled out his ABC book and a few cans of bath foam and shaving cream. The big kids got some help forming their letters and the little ones had fun making squiggles and circles and reviewing the letters with us! I was really surprised with how long they all stayed engaged with this activity.

I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted to because my hands got covered in the foam, too :) I ended up reading through the book first and then going back and helping the kids form letters. Some of them were ready for capital and lower-case letters and some of them just focused on the capitals. We also practiced writing our names.
Our hands did get a little pink from the red bath foam, but it was easy to clean up. I'm happy to report that the table wiped off easily as well :)

The bath foam and shaving cream will definitely be something that we pull out again to practice writing word families and numbers! After all, a little mess makes everything more fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love to hear from you in the comments and have you join us back again!

  1. My kiddos LOVE playing with shaving cream, too! Well, my 2 and 6 year old do. My 14 month old is not quite sure about that sensory experience.
